18k gold, enamel, and diamond pansy brooch suspending a matching pansy watch. The movement for the watch is signed by Thomas Kirkpatrick, New York, 1860-1906.
Named from the French word, ‘pensé,’ meaning ‘to think,’ pansy flowers symbolize remembrance and were a popular design motif at the turn of the twentieth century.
